UPDATE 4/15 2:30 PM:
The Boil Water Advisory has been LIFTED.
Rapidan Service Authority (RSA) has reported that the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for customers in the Lake of the Woods community.
A series of bacteriological samples were collected by RSA and sent to a state certified lab, in accordance with Virginia Department of Health guidelines.
All samples collected on April 13th and 14th were absent of both total coliform and E. coli bacteria.
Residents can safely resume normal use of their tap water without boiling or disinfection.
Monday, 4/14 11:00AM:
Fareways Cafe open at 11AM, Monday, April 14. Following Health Department guidelines and requirements Fareways is able to operate while still under the RSA Boil Water Advisory.
RSA collected its first round of samples for testing last night and will collect a second round at midday today. Results for those samples are expected by tomorrow afternoon. RSA will notify as soon as the Boil Water advisory is no longer necessary.
Sunday, 4/13, 10:30 PM:
Fareways Cafe is preparing to open at 11AM Monday, April 14. This opening time is contingent on RSA lifting the Boil Water advisory. RSA will be performing testing of the water system now that the repair is completed and will notify LOWA as soon as the Boil Water advisory is no longer necessary.
All other amenities that are normally open on Monday will operate under regular hours. LOWA will continue to monitor the situation and will keep members updated as information becomes available from RSA.

Sunday, 4/13, 1:30PM:
RSA has completed the water main break repair and water is back on with pressure building.
The Fitness Center and Community Center is reopened for use.
The Clubhouse and Fareways Café will REMAIN CLOSED until the BOIL WATER ADVISORY is Lifted per Health Department requirements.
LOWA will continue to monitor the situation and will update members on amenity operations as information is received from RSA.

Due to widespread water outage in our area The Clubhouse and Fareways Café will plan to open today at 3PM. Opening is contingent on when water is restored. Both restaurants will remain closed until water is restored.
The Fitness Center and Community Center are closed while water outage remains.
LOW Golf Club will remain open but restrooms will not be available due to water outage. LOWA is monitoring the situation and will update members as information is received from RSA.
WATER MAIN BREAK IN WILDERNESS SERVICE AREA (Lake of the Woods included): RSA is aware of a widespread outage in the Wilderness water system. Crews are responding and updates will be provided as more information is available. More information at
