Veterans Dam Maintenance, Main Lake Lowering 2/25/26

2/24/2026

Veterans Dam Maintenance, Main Lake Water Level Lowering 2/25/26:

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday, February 25, 2026,LOW Association will lower the Main Lake water level by up to approximately three (3) inches to allow for scheduled maintenance/repair at the Veterans Dam spillway.

A permit for a minor dam repair—initially submitted on December 15, 2025—to grout a very small leak in the weir wall on Veterans Dam received final approval on February 23, 2026. Contractor (CJ Geotechnical) has a narrow window of availability to complete this repair work later this week. We apologize for the short notice and appreciate your understanding.

To provide for worker safety while repairs are made at the top of the spillway weir wall, the lake must be lowered approximately two to three inches.

Beginning February 25, 2026, you may notice water discharging from the low-level drain located at the base of Veterans Dam.This is normal and part of the controlled process to temporarily reduce the lake level.

We appreciate your understanding as we complete this important maintenance to protect and preserve our lake infrastructure.

MONITORING PLAN FOR LAKE LEVEL:

The Main Lake level will be recorded in the morning (2/25) on initial drain opening. Levels will be recorded at noon, and at the end of the work day to confirm it is draining at the appropriate rate. We anticipate closing the low-level drain early Thursday morning, if the target lake level is reached.
