7/28/2025

RSA Sewage Overflow Advisory July 28, 2025:
Lakefront Members located in the cove bordered by Washington Street, Cornwallis Ave., and Surrey Lane are advised to avoid water activities for people and pets until further notice.
RSA has notified LOWA about an overflow from a home's collection tank at a private lot on the 100 block of Washington Street.

LOWA will collect water samples for lab testing from the area on a daily basis and will notify members when test results show E. coli levels below the state threshold.
Members should avoid swimming, windsurfing, and stand-up paddle-boarding as well as any other activities that may pose a risk of ingesting water in this cove area. People and pets should avoid areas where RSA has applied lime to mitigate contamination for at least 24 hours.

SWIM ADVISORY at Harpers Ferry Beach until further notice out of abundance of caution until testing samples can be received to verify the beach is under the VDH 235 CFU/100mL threshold. No other closures of any beaches or water access points.
*While these beaches are open, members swim and engage in water activities at their own risk until test results confirm E. coli concentrations at this location. This advisory is in place to help protect the health and safety of all users.
