  • Thomas C. Phillips

Understanding the LOWA Board Election Terms:
This year, six candidates are running for five available seats on the LOWA Board of Directors. These five seats will become vacant at the end of August 2025.
Here’s how the terms will be assigned:

  • Three seats are for a 3-year term.
  • Two seats are for a 1-year term.

The term each elected candidate will serve is based on the total number of votes they receive:

  • The top three vote-getters will each serve a 3-year term.
  • The candidates who receive the 4th and 5th highest number of votes will each serve a 1-year term.

This vote-based system ensures that the candidates who receive the most support from the community serve the longer terms.
Current Continuing LOWA Directors are Jeanne Porter and John R. Bell.
