Board Adopts Resolution for Main Gate Traffic Congestion Relief Project Funding and Awards Construction Contract August 29, 2024.

During the August 29, 2024 the Board Of Directors meeting, the Board adopted a resolution authorizing use of the Repair and Replacement Reserve Fund Balance for the Main Gate Traffic Congestion Relief Project funding over three fiscal years and awarded the Main Gate Traffic Congestion Improvement Project construction contract to BZ Excavating, Inc. of Locust Grove, Virginia.

Meeting outcomes as reported from minutes of the meeting: 
  • 5.1A Consideration of Budget and Financing for the Main Gate Traffic Congestion Improvement Project. (Resolution 2024-15)  (D-24-93) Motion by Kay, that the Board adopt Resolution 2024-15, an Administrative Resolution, regarding financing for the Main Gate Traffic Congestion Improvement Project, amended by splitting the borrowing schedule in FY2025/26 and FY2026/27 to $227,510 in each year.
    • Vote: Yea: Diercks, DiPasquale, Zavrel, Kay and Rappoport.  Nay: Henecke and Olson.  Motion passed 5 to 2.
  • 5.1B Consideration of Awarding a Contract for the Main Gate Traffic Congestion Improvement Project, Funds to Come From the Repair and Replacement Reserve and New Asset and Improvement Reserve.  (D-24-94) Motion by Zavrel that the Board award a contract for the Main Gate Traffic Congestion Improvement Project to BZ Excavating, Inc. of Locust Grove, Virginia, funds to come from the FY2024/25 Repair and Replacement Reserve Fund balance and the FY2025/26 and FY2026/27 New Asset and Improvement Reserve.
    • Vote: Yea: Diercks, DiPasquale, Zavrel, Kay and Rappoport.  Nay: Henecke and Olson. Motion passed 5 to 2.
