UPDATE November 28, 2025:

Hollyfield Park Work Update:
  • A rock weir and a vegetated emergency spillway have been completed in the Hollyfield Park water detention facility. Wooden bollards around the water detention facility have been installed.
  • The relocated horseshoe pit has been marked out for the contractor (Steady Construction) to install. 
  • Tree replacement has been marked out by LOWA and will be installed after final grade of the project area. Two shade trees in the parking area have been planted.
  • Hollyfield Park Playground is OPEN!

Patrick Henry Court Drainage Pipeline Work Update:
  • RSA is scheduled to complete the Patrick Henry Court utility work in the first week of December to resolve the utility conflicts that were identified. RSA has given a 7-day notice to the residents affected prior to this utility work being done. Patrick Henry Court will have temporary lane closures during the first week of December. 
  • Lane Closure at the Intersection of Patrick Henry Court and Yorktown Blvd: The Contractor (Steady Construction) will be the completing ditch and manhole structure work at the intersection of Patrick Henry Court and Yorktown Blvd the first two weeks of December. Expect intermittent lane closures at that intersection during this scheduled time. Crews will keep one lane open for local traffic.
  • When contractor crews work on drainage pipelines that cross Patrick Henry Court they will cut into the roadway halfway across, allowing one lane of traffic to remain open in the active work zones. Once each pipeline section is installed, the roadway will be backfilled and reopened to full traffic. Patrick Henry Court/ Yorktown Blvd. intersection

 
Yorktown Blvd. Water Detention Facility Work Update:
  • A rock weir is complete at Yorktown Blvd water detention facility. A gravel entrance area, vegetated spillway, and a removable bollard at the driveway remain to be finished. 
  • Ditch grading and capped drainage structures were completed for the drainage pipeline project area along Yorktown Blvd connecting Patrick Henry Court pipeline across from Yorktown water detention facility.

Final Steps:
  • Once all pipeline crossovers on Patrick Henry Court are completed:
  •  
  • Crews will begin final site cleanup and demobilization of construction equipment.
  • Trees will be planted in designated areas of Hollyfield Park.
  • Erosion and sediment control fencing will remain in place until new grass is fully established.
Final Steps: Scheduled for Spring 2026
  • Paving on Yorktown Blvd. and tar-and-chip work on Patrick Henry Court will be completed in the Spring 2026 due to temperature requirements.
  • Tar and chip will be applied to all Hollyfield Park parking areas in the Spring 2026 due to temperature requirements.
