Progress Update: Main Gate Traffic Congestion Relief Project: 25% COMPLETE, ESTIMATED COMPLETION: April 2025
- The Main Gate project is moving forward despite delays caused by winter weather and wet conditions.
- BZ Excavating, the project contractor, plans to resume work on the relocated member lane during the week of 2/24, weather permitting. The team will complete work on the subbase first, followed by the application of an asphalt base coat. This phase of the project is expected to be finished by 2/28, as long as weather conditions allow.
- For the asphalt contractor to apply the base coat, BZ Excavating needs at least three consecutive days of dry weather to properly dry and compact the roadway surface.
- During the week of 2/24, members may experience short-term lane closures at the Main Gate while work continues on the relocated lane. We will provide advance notice of any closures to keep members informed.
- To ensure quality and compliance, LOWA has hired a geotechnical engineer to verify all required project testing and conduct inspections.
- Once the asphalt base on the relocated member lane is complete, the team will begin boring electrical wiring for the new member lane island and guard shack. This work is expected to start the week of 3/3, depending on weather conditions. The project team has finalized the wiring plan in collaboration with Entry Guard, and future progress remains contingent on improved weather conditions.
