Lake Of The Woods Week In Review For The Week Of 05-20-2019

This week’s activities focused around exterior construction completion. Regarding the interior of the facility, most of all the MEP work has been completed. There are a few last minute adjustments needing to be completed. These will be addressed next week before our Final Inspections which are scheduled for the later part of next week. Most interior finishes have been completed with exceptions to the remaining wood flooring of the Fitness Room, and remaining store front hardware left to be installed. These items will be completed next week as well. Interior painting is about 95% complete with touch ups needed here and there from last minute work being completed. Final cleaning of the new facility is scheduled for Monday June 3rd, and walk through with the owner/architect is scheduled for June 6th.  Now let’s move on to the activities that were performed around the exterior of the facility this week.

SITE, POOL, AND EXTERIOR WORK,
Kelvic Constructions subcontractor Stanley Brothers continued final grading around site sidewalks, and pool deck concrete. Stanley Brothers completed the placement and final grading of the remaining Bio Filter Strip located just behind the renovated Basketball Court. They finished the week up with beginning the removal of the temporary construction entrance. Removal, and final grading of the construction entrance will be completed next week.
Tennis Courts Inc. took care of setting the new Basketball Court Goals. They will be back on site the week after next to complete the painting of the new surface. They needed 14 days of cure time on the new asphalt placed before paint could be applied.
Olympia Pools completed the placement of the Plaster Bond Coat, SST Handrails, and Water Features. The crew responsible for equipment setup took care of setting the two new pumps, and the plumbing of the pumps. Placement of Chemical Feeder equipment, and remaining filter plumbing will take place next week.  The pool was supposed to be filled this weekend so a 24 hour Water Tightness Test could be performed before application of the final finish, but we were instructed by RSA not to proceed with the filling on Friday. With the pool needing 169,000 gallons, RSA feared that this would put a strain on its water demands this Memorial Day weekend. Filling of the pool for this test has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.
Tommy Wallace Electrical took care of setting the remaining pool deck light pole anchor bolts ahead of the concrete placement. Once all pool deck had been placed on Wednesday they began routing the service feed that will power the light poles. While bouncing back and forth with the ongoing activities of concrete deck placement they started roughing in the electrical service of systems needed for operation of the new pool equipment. Primary focus of next week’s activities will be getting the pool pumps up and running, along with powering remaining pool operations equipment.
Unlimited Plumbing took care of placement, and tie in of the new Backflow equipment in the Pool Equipment Room.  Water was turned on, and ready for filling of the pool. Unlimited had added help this weekend, and was able to knock out a lot of the facilities exterior trim out.
Long Fencing began placement of the Pool Security Fencing, and will be back next Tuesday to complete.
R.J. Biringer’s subcontractor Liquid continue placement of remaining concrete pool deck, sidewalks, and site curbing.
M.L. Straight Painting worked on remaining exterior painting.
Wilsey Roofing took care of roof gutter, and downspout placements.

This concludes the brief description of this week’s construction activities.
