L.O.W. Week In Review For 03-18-2019

We started this week off with more great weather. Project site was finally drying out, and contractors were able to move about without having to pick and choose their routes due to worrying about an area being too muddy to cross with a piece of equipment without the fear of getting stuck. Then good ole Mother Nature threw another dose of reality our way, giving us about 3 inches of rain on Thursday, and we were back to the norm. Oh well, enough about the weather, and on to our week in review.
This week was a busy one. On Monday contractors TWE, Unlimited Plumbing, and Miller Interiors tended to last minute details making sure everything needed for supporting pipes, electrical wires, light fixtures, and ceiling grid had been placed before turning the interior of the Fitness Center over to Creative Conservation on Tuesday to begin the application of the spray foam. Creative will occupy the interior of the Fitness Center Building the remainder of the week, and into Tuesday of next week. While this is taking place contractors (TWE, Miller Interiors) focused their attention on exterior tasks, and work that needed to be done in the Pool House Building.
Tommy Wallace Electrical began routing lighting feeds in the Pool House Restroom, and in the Storage Room Of the Pool House.
Miller Interiors Continued framing of the Cupola, and exterior building soffits. Miller will be working this weekend on the framing of the exterior soffits in preparation of Wilsey Roofing starting next Wednesday with the placement of Hardie siding, and trim.
Unlimited Plumbing continued with the routing of the new water supply from the Fitness Center Mechanical Room to the Men’s, and Women’s Pool House Restroom, and to the Pool House Pump Room. Unlimited finished out the week with the placement of remaining shower plumbing located in the Family Restroom, and Pool House Restroom.
Now that the shower plumbing placement has been completed Ramsey Masonry finished running the CMU walls of both the Pool House Restroom, and Family Restroom shower stalls. They will demobilize for a while, while waiting for the Facilities site concrete to be placed. There are 3 external columns that will receive both brick, and Cast Stone to match the facilities veneer. These column surrounds will sit directly on the concrete flatwork. 2 are located in the pool area, and the 3rd is located near the entrance of the new facility from the new parking lot.
Mike’s Glass was on site Wednesday to begin install of the facilities exterior storefront window units. Due to the rain on Thursday they were not able to complete the install, and were back on Friday to do so. Mike’s was not able to set everything on this first visit due to several items still being shipped. Items waiting to be received include the storefront doors located at the Fitness Center’s Main Entry, and , the rear exit of the (Lake Side) Fitness Center, and the 2 sliding windows located at the Snack Bar.
Kelvic Construction’s sub Stanley Brothers mobilized site equipment on Monday, and began taking care of the site grading along with the removal of remaining unsuitable soils around the pool area Tuesday, and Wednesday. Due to the volume of rain we received on Thursday they were not able to continue work on Friday. They will be back on Monday to continue getting the site ready for the placement of the new pool deck, and walking trail. The weather forecast looks favorable this weekend, so hopefully with forecasted sun, temps, and breeze we will start the week off with again a somewhat dry site. Fingers crossed!
Last, but not least Rappahannock Electric, and their subcontractor were on site most of the week getting everything ready for the new service to the facility. With the placement of new poles, lines, and transformers this week, we have been told that we should have power to the new facility Tuesday of next week.
This concludes the weekly update for the week of March 18, 2019. Hope everyone here has a great weekend.
