COMMUNITY AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE CHARTER

MISSION  

The overall mission of Lake of the Woods Committees is to add value to the Association by advising and assisting the Board of Directors and General Manager in carrying out their responsibilities to the Association.  The Community and Youth Activities Committee reports to the Board of Directors and the primary focus of their Mission is to serve as a channel of communication for community members’ ideas and suggestions for new and on-going activities at Lake of the Woods.  Our intention is to bring this community closer together by working toward a cooperative effort between all age groups in our membership, the LOWA Administration and Board, other LOWA Committees.


II  COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To represent LOWA members on issues related to youth
  2. To advise the Board of Directors and General Manager on issues concerning the development, scheduling, promotion and utilization of recreational programs and facilities. 
  3. Review and report on the maintenance and upkeep of the above mentioned facilities.
  4. Make recommendations on improvements and/or better utilization of these facilities.
  5. Review all regulations concerning the use of these facilities and LOWA activities within our community and make recommendations for additions or changes.
  6. Work in conjunction with other LOWA Committees where a common interest in an activity exists to help promote more activities in the community.

III  SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ACTIVITIES AND YOUTH COMMITTEE

All LOWA Committees must follow the guidance of the BYLAWS, Specifically Article V: Organization, Section D: Committees.  To the extent a specific Committee has special characteristics which are in addition, or exception to the BYLAWS, these characteristics must be listed below. 
Oral Reporting at the Monthly Board of Directors meeting should be not less than three times a year for the Community and Youth Activities Committee.

THIS CHARTER IS EFFECTIVE UPON APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.  IT SHALL BE REVIEWED FOR READOPTION AT LEAST EVERY FIVE (5) YEARS FROM THE DATE OF THE MOST RECENT REVISION.
