Rapidan
Service Authority (RSA)
RSA provides high quality water to our community, and testing results are reported to members yearly. On occasion residents may experience brown water, low pressure and air in the lines when lines are flushed to perform standard maintenance. This is not a cause for concern. Members are notified of the flushing schedule in advance in Lake Currents, on Channel 18, the Front Entrance Board and via e-mail. For urgent work scheduled on short notice, residents in affected sections are notified via the Front Entrance Board. If you experience persistent brown water that does not appear to be part of the regular maintenance schedule, please contact RSA directly.
The LOW vacuum sewer system is an older system that is currently being upgraded. Homeowners are asked to treat the system with consideration by not flushing the following substances down drains or toilets: non-biodegradable materials (non-flushable wet wipes or diapers), plastics, chemicals, grease, wax and personal hygiene items. Such items can block and/or destroy lines or render valves inoperable, causing a major overflow into your yard and/or backup into your home or a neighbor's.
If you experience an overlow or backup in your sewer system, contact RSA immediately. |
